Why Akathleptos?

Why Akathleptos? Because it means Uncontainable. God is infinite. Hence, the whole universe cannot contain Him. The term also refers to the incomprehensibility of God. No man can know everything about God. We can know Him personally but not exhaustively, not even in Heaven.

Why Patmos? Because the church is increasingly marginalized and exiled from the culture.

Why Pen-Names? So the focus is on the words and not who wrote them. We prefer to let what we say stand on its own merit. There is precedent in church history for this - i.e., the elusive identity of Ambrosiaster who wrote in the 4th century A.D.

“Truth is so obscured nowadays, and lies so well established, that unless we love the truth we shall never recognize it." Blaise Pascal

He is the returning Lion welcomed by some but the worst nightmare for most

The French government has decided the mere sight of children with Down syndrome on television is an unhappy intrusion on the national conscience. J.D. Flynn, a parent of two children with Down syndrome, chronicles it here. He writes,

We’re unwelcome in Iceland because of Down syndrome.

This week, CBS News reported that only one or two children with Down syndrome are born in Iceland each year. And that Down syndrome has been “basically eradicated from Iceland.” The story reported that Icelanders—some Icelanders, at least—perceive aborting disabled children as an act of mercy—“preventing suffering for the child and for the family.”

What is happening in France and Iceland is a reflection of a world spiraling into destruction. What history condemns the Nazis for, is now gleefully practiced and celebrated in "intellectually-advanced" countries where insanity is increasingly the norm. A veil of oppresive darkness is settling over the globe.

But well beyond the darkness - a powerful, piercing transcendent light that will change everything forever - is drawing near. He is the returning Lion welcomed by some but the worst nightmare for most. His brilliance will obliterate evil. As C.S. Lewis wrote about the great lion in “The Chronicles of Narnia”, He is not safe but He is good.

The King is coming back.

For you yourselves are fully aware that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night (1 Thess 5:2)
