Why Akathleptos?

Why Akathleptos? Because it means Uncontainable. God is infinite. Hence, the whole universe cannot contain Him. The term also refers to the incomprehensibility of God. No man can know everything about God. We can know Him personally but not exhaustively, not even in Heaven.

Why Patmos? Because the church is increasingly marginalized and exiled from the culture.

Why Pen-Names? So the focus is on the words and not who wrote them. We prefer to let what we say stand on its own merit. There is precedent in church history for this - i.e., the elusive identity of Ambrosiaster who wrote in the 4th century A.D.

“Truth is so obscured nowadays, and lies so well established, that unless we love the truth we shall never recognize it." Blaise Pascal

Where Are the Moderate Muslims?

Gun Control Is No Substitute For Repentance

Gun-controlled Chicago already has yielded more than 1,000 shooting victims as of April 27 of this year alone. Colion Noir hits the proverbial nail on the head with his video from 2 years ago addressing gun control and the violence in Chicago. The city ruled by progressive leftists for decades has some of the most draconian gun control laws in the country and yet is now worse than the wild west of the late 19th century in terms of shootings. The cry from liberals for more gun control laws to address the problem has an intriguing theological aspect. Violence and murder ultimately originate in the heart (Matt 15:19); the gun is merely the tool. Enacting more laws to address a problem of the heart is futile - the lesson of the Old Testament. The solution must be a changed heart, something the culture at-large refuses to acknowledge. Ironically, the pop culture, music and Hollywood instead daily bombards everyone with increasing levels of profanity, violence, obscenity and perversion ... and then wonders why young people act worse than animals. Consider how profane the lyrics are for most rap music. (If one is intent on enacting and enforcing more laws, the more logical starting point would be to address the filth emanating from the pop culture that is polluting the heart.)

Baltimore is another city with strict gun control that has been ruled by progressive liberals for decades. How's that working out? Baltimore’s mayor is asking for help from the FBI, as the city struggles to contain a soaring murder rate. Violence in Baltimore has reached a crisis level, with the number of killings shattering a 20-year high this early in the year. See here.

Gun control is no substitute for repentance.

A Vision From An Old Woman In Norway In 1968 Of The End

(Keep in mind that this video was uploaded in Sep 2009 before the mass migration into western Europe.)

An old woman of 90 from Valdres in Norway had a vision from God in 1968. The evangelist Emanuel Minos had meetings (services) where she lived. He had the opportunity to meet her, and she told him what she had seen. He wrote it down, but thought it to be so unintelligible that he put it in a drawer. Almost 30 years later, he understood he had to share the vision with others.

The woman from Valdres was a very alert, reliable, awake and credible Christian, with a good reputation among all who knew her. This is what she saw:

"I saw the time just before the coming of Jesus and the outbreak of the Third World War. I saw the events with my natural eyes. I saw the world like a kind of a globe and saw Europe, land by land. I saw Scandinavia. I saw Norway. I saw certain things that would take place just before the return of Jesus, and just before the last calamity happens, a calamity the likes of which we have never before experienced.

She mentioned four waves:

1. "First before Jesus comes and before the Third World War breaks out there will be a ‘détente’ like we have never had before. There will be peace between the super powers in the east and the west, and there will be a long peace. (Remember, that this was in 1968 when the cold war was at its highest. E. Minos) In this period of peace there will be disarmament in many countries, also in Norway and we are not prepared when it (the war) comes. The Third World War will begin in a way no one would have anticipated - and from an unexpected place.

2. "A lukewarmness without parallel will take hold of the Christians, a falling away from true, living Christianity. Christians will not be open for penetrating preaching. They will not, like in earlier times, want to hear of sin and grace, law and gospel, repentance and restoration. There will come a substitute instead: prosperity (happiness) Christianity.

"The important thing will be to have success, to be something; to have material things, things that God never promised us in this way. Churches and prayer houses will be emptier and emptier. Instead of the preaching we have been used to for generations -like, to take your cross up and follow Jesus, - entertainment, art and culture will invade the churches where there should have been gatherings for repentance and revival. This will increase markedly just before the return of Jesus.

3. "There will be a moral disintegration that old Norway has never experienced the likes of. People will live together like married without being married. (I do not believe the concept ‘co-habitor’? existed in 1968 - E. Minos.) Much uncleanness before marriage, and much infidelity in marriage will become the natural (the common), and it will be justified from every angle. It will even enter Christian circles and we pet it - even sin against nature. Just before Jesus return there will be TV- programs like we have never experienced. (TV had just arrived in Norway in 1968. E. Minos)

"TV will be filled with such horrible violence that it teaches people to murder and destroy each other, and it will be unsafe in our streets. People will copy what they see. There will not be only one ‘station’ on TV, it will be filled with ‘stations.’ (She did not know the word ‘channel’ which we use today. Therefore she called them stations. E. Minos.) TV will be just like the radio where we have many ‘stations,’ and it will be filled with violence. People will use it for entertainment. We will see terrible scenes of murder and destruction one of the other, and this will spread in society. Sex scenes will also be shown on the screen, the most intimate things that takes place in a marriage." (I protested and said, we have a paragraph that forbids this kind of thing. E. Minos.) There the old woman said: "It will happen, and you will see it. All we have had before will be broken down, and the most indecent things will pass before our eyes."

4. "People from poor countries will stream to Europe. (In 1968 there was no such thing as immigration. E. Minos.) They will also come to Scandinavia - and Norway. There will be so many of them that people will begin to dislike them and become hard with them. They will be treated like the Jews before the Second World War. Then the full measure of our sins will have been reached (I protested at the issue of immigration. I did not understand it at the time. E. Minos.)

The tears streamed from the old woman’s eyes down her cheeks. "I will not see it, but you will. Then suddenly, Jesus will come and the Third World War breaks out. It will be a short war." (She saw it in the vision.)

"All that I have seen of war before is only child’s play compared to this one, and it will be ended with a nuclear atom bomb. The air will be so polluted that one cannot draw one’s breath. It will cover several continents, America, Japan, Australia and the wealthy nations. The water will be ruined (contaminated?). We can no longer till the soil. The result will be that only a remnant will remain. The remnant in the wealthy countries will try to flee to the poor countries, but they will be as hard on us as we were on them.

"I am so glad that I will not see it, but when the time draws near, you must take courage and tell this. I have received it from God, and nothing of it goes against what the Bible tells.

"The one who has his sin forgiven and has Jesus as Savior and Lord, is safe."

Can You Trust The Press?

The abuse that is now occurring is only the tip of the iceberg of what is to come

The guy in the video below (yes, he's a guy) is a tragic example of what happens when one "creates" their own reality. On his web site, he describes himself as a "polyamorous, atheist, gender non-binary transwoman".

Joy Pullmann makes a strong case here for the true goals of "trans" ideology - (1) ending sex and (2) normalizing abuse.

... This is terrible, utterly self-centered behavior. It should be needless to say, but sex is a mutual act and consent requires knowing what you are getting into. You can’t consent to sex with a man if you don’t know he’s a man. It’s a deeply vulnerable interaction initiated on false premises, and that’s wrong.

... This all indicates trans ideology is positively sex-hostile, in both senses of that term. Needless to say, this is not what most people binging on the sexual revolution and its aftermath were expecting, along with other anti-sex outcomes such as sexually transmitted disease epidemics that make sex very painful, porn addictions that spur impotency and curb sexual appetite, and hormonal birth control that kills women’s sex drive and can make sex painful. So freakin’ much for “sex positivity.” What a load of garbage.

The rainbows are not only locking everyone else into iron underwear. They’ve locked themselves into the asylum, as well ....

... But don’t worry, women of the world. This six-foot-four dude is “a big fan of affirmative consent” — so long as you affirm precisely what he wants you to affirm. If you start raising your emotional needs and premonitions, despite assault prevention experts specifically recommending that women do just that to enhance potentially life-saving situational awareness, that’s also bigotry. In other words, protecting yourself is evil. To anyone who has experience with highly manipulative people, this is a blatant tell of an abusive personality, a major warning sign.

The widespread devastation now underway from the sexual revolution is an indicator of strong demonic influence extending into the highest levels of power and authority within the culture. The spiraling descent into insanity has been breathtaking. As Joy affirms, "they've locked themselves into the asylum"; I might add "and thrown away the key". Barring national repentance and a spiritual reawakening, the abuse that is now occurring is only the tip of the iceberg of what is to come.

Brace yourselves.

The Truth About Popular Culture

Caution For Language & Public Graphic Acts

The Population Of Bubbleville

The liberal web site "Politico" has an surprising entry here (surprising that they admit it) honestly acknowledging that the media bubble is not only real, but much worse than we think.

.... my colleague Tucker Doherty excavated labor statistics and cross-referenced them against voting patterns and Census data to figure out just what the American media landscape looks like, and how much it has changed.

The results read like a revelation. The national media really does work in a bubble, something that wasn’t true as recently as 2008. And the bubble is growing more extreme. Concentrated heavily along the coasts, the bubble is both geographic and political. If you’re a working journalist, odds aren’t just that you work in a pro-Clinton county—odds are that you reside in one of the nation’s most pro-Clinton counties. And you’ve got company: If you’re a typical reader of Politico, chances are you’re a citizen of bubbleville, too.

The “media bubble” trope might feel overused by critics of journalism who want to sneer at reporters who live in Brooklyn or California and don’t get the “real America” of southern Ohio or rural Kansas. But these numbers suggest it’s no exaggeration: Not only is the bubble real, but it’s more extreme than you might realize.

But the "bubble" is actually exponentially worse than Politico realizes.

Everyone of us, without exception, is born into the "bubble" of this fallen world. Within this bubble exist all manner of worldviews - liberalism, conservatism, materialism, naturalism, pantheism, theism, atheism, spiritism, postmodernism, etc. While each worldview may espouse some aspect of truth, all are necessarily stunted by virtue of the fact of the "fallen" bubble which prevents any comprehensively accurate grasp of ultimate reality. There is no hope of breaking free of Bubbleville on our own; no insight, no imagination, no effort on our part will work. The population of Bubbleville is truly global.

Of course, those living in Bubbleville have no clue that their grasp of reality is false. Victims of a powerful delusion, they are convinced they are free when in fact they are in terrible and inescapable bondage.

There is only way to break out of this bubble into freedom and come to grips with ultimate reality.

The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers

Pay Big Bucks To Be Indoctrinated

For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight (1 Cor 3:19, NIV)

Harvard is one of the most prestigious colleges in the United States. Difficult to get into, the acceptance rate for the class of 2019 was only 5.3% (accepting 1,990 of 37,305 applicants.) The cost for attendance exceeds more than $70,000/year with annual tuition alone almost $45,000 (see here.)

The Ivy League school's "Office of BLGTQ Student Life" recently distributed a "fact sheet" to students on campus titled "Get the facts about gender diversity. Fight transphobia." The Harvard Office of BLGTQ is an officially sanctioned organization on campus comprised of students/faculty/staff/alumni that is enthusiastically supported by the administration (see here.) Their "executive committee" includes multiple PhDs.

The document begins by asserting that "sex assigned at birth and gender identity are not necessarily the same."

"Sex assigned at birth, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, hormonal makeup, physical anatomy, and/or how one is perceived in daily life are not necessarily related," the sheet reads, adding that "there are more than two sexes." The page explains that not only do genitals influence a person's sex but also hormones and chromosomes. It cites a post by Organization Intersex International to claim that at least 2 percent of humans are "born with combinations of these characteristics that do not fit into the constructed sex binary of 'male' and 'female,' and may identify as intersex."

"Even within categories of 'male' and 'female,' every human expression of sex is in some way biologically variant from the next," the BLGTQ office asserted. According to the document, the concept of gender is "fluid and changing," can be expressed in a number of ways and can change on a daily basis. (See the story here.)

This institution of "higher learning" propagated a "fact sheet" asserting something that any normal elementary school child knows is not true - that gender does not change and cannot change "on a daily basis". I wrote earlier here about the looney worldview espoused by many tenured collegiate professors, and documented here the increasing insanity of secular education. No wonder more and more are proclaiming college a colossal waste of time and money (i.e., see here and here). College tuition increasingly funds the bloated salaries of tenured professors (reminiscent of the ancient Athenians who spent their time "in nothing except telling or hearing something new", Acts 17:21) who can say or do anything short of murder and get away with it. They gleefully take your hard-earned money to brainwash your kids with venomous hatred spewed from a secular, anti-Christian worldview grounded in fantasy.

While of course there are secular colleges that award worthwhile degrees *i.e., engineering, physics, astronomy, software, medicine, archeology, the arts, etc) one must be cautious. Reputation and cost are not valid indicators of worth. Many degrees that are now offered have little practical relevance in the real world. Many colleges are in fact nothing more than indoctrination centers staffed by a bloated, overpaid faculty with little-to-none "real-world skills" who espouse a naturalist worldview grounded in fantasy. Students often unfortunately buy at great cost, nothing more than a "snake-oil" education.

Caveat Emptor.

Rabbi predicted in 1994 The Threat Would Come From North Korea

North Korea has only recently emerged as a major threat to the Western world, but a noted Rabbi predicted in 1994 that the rogue nation would become the nuclear key to the final war of Gog and Magog. Now that politics have shifted, revealing the prophetic nature of the rabbi’s words, another look reveals a deeper, Biblical understanding of the threat that faces us today. Rabbi Levi Saadia Nachamani, who accurately had forecast both the Six Day War in 1967 and the Yom Kippur War in 1973, issued his warning. When Rabbi Levi Sa’adia Nachamanii gave a speech in 1994, one month before he died, he surprisingly warned that of all the threats to Israel, North Korea posed the most danger. Story is here. Interesting.

Increasingly bizarre judicial pronouncements are the inevitable result of a willful abdication of moral truth

Hadley Arkes penned a brilliantly devastating analysis here of what actually transpired when the United States Supreme Court mandated abortion in 1973 as the law of the land. He makes it astonishingly clear that moral truth was never addressed or even considered by the court dissenting minority. It's the most powerful analysis of Roe v Wade that I've read. (The article is posted on the First Things web site and is accessible to everyone; without a subscription you can access 3 free articles per month.)

Justice Holmes gave voice to the modern legal project when he registered the hope that “every word of moral significance could be banished from the law altogether, and other words adopted which should convey legal ideas uncolored by anything outside the law.” In other words, an understanding of “law” made ever purer by being ever more detached from any moral content.

... What we have had, then, are judges of the left making moral arguments, and instead of showing why those arguments are spurious, the conservatives retreat to the simple report of the positivist that there was no mention of marriage or abortion in the text of the Constitution. The question of marriage offered the most notable and recent example. And yet, these deep flaws in conservative jurisprudence come into sight even more dramatically if we return to that question of abortion, and look back forty years to the briefs and the dissenting opinions that were offered in Roe v. Wade.

... The killing of the child—the gravest concern that had brought forth the law—was now displaced as the main question in the case. The harm done to the fetus was replaced with the harm visited on the people and legislatures in the separate states, as they were barred from “balancing” how much they “valued” the life of a child against the interests and convenience of a pregnant woman.

... This was the familiar response of conservative jurisprudence: to appeal to “tradition” as a way of evading that vexing question of whether the practice in question is morally defensible or indefensible. The claim was that we would find a ground of argument far less contentious, far less open to political quarreling, if we appealed to the historical record, rather than invite an argument over moral truths.

... And yet that was never enough to shake the confidence of conservative judges that the appeal to tradition is valued precisely because it delivers a ground of judgment safely distant from the need to weigh the moral justifications for acts of legislation.

The judicial refusal to address the moral truth of an issue surrenders the most powerful and effective weapon, raising the White Flag before the battle even begins. While other considerations may of course be present when adjudging an issue, moral truth is always paramount and must always have the final say. The refusal to acknowledge, defend and judicially enforce moral truth is the death blow for any culture or civilization. We often hear that the state "cannot legislate morality" ------ Hogwash. Whether we admit it or not, most laws do in fact legislate moral truth. Universal laws against rape, murder, theft, assault, etc. all legislate moral truth.

Increasingly bizarre judicial pronouncements are the inevitable result of a willful abdication of moral truth.

Spring Break Regrets

“Lost my virginity, don’t remember it.”

“There was this embarrassing make out session I had with this guy. I only regretted it because his friends dared him to make out with me.”

“Drank too much and got tipsy in front of respected people.”

The ProjectKnow survey here reports that many Spring Breakers regret their alcohol-fueled activities. They surveyed 889 former high school and college students who traveled on spring break in the last five years to learn more about their experience firsthand, asking about their biggest regrets, the amount of alcohol they consumed, and the kinds of sexual activities they participated in while away.

38 percent reported that they felt bad about their alcohol consumption, while 32 percent are upset they had sex. Eleven percent also expressed remorse for drug use. The survey also found that of those who had sex on Spring Break, 65 percent of men did it with someone they just met, and 42 percent of women did the same. The rest reported it was sex with a friend. Nearly half of both men and women who had sex during Spring Break — 40 percent — reported that they did not use protection, even as the Centers for Disease Control reports STD rates among young people are growing exponentially.

“Our survey confirmed that heavy drinking and drug use are still quite prevalent among spring breakers; however, there is serious regret associated with these activities,” Meg Piedmont, a spokesperson on behalf of Project Know, told The College Fix via email.

Sin never satisfies in the long term, but always brings regret. Everyone of us in this fallen world - without exception - has regrets for things we have done. Regret though can lead to genuine repentance, thereby freeing us. Or it merely leads to worldly sorrow and ultimately to death.

For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death (2 Cor 7:10)

"In a world without guardrails, more and more people crash"

Our elites are in a double denial ... It’s the great and the good who are living in an alternative reality that conveniently confirms them in their conviction that they are expert and exemplary economic, political, and cultural leaders, thank you very much. Meanwhile, a substantial portion of the American population—the part that, along with black American descendants of slaves, is entirely dependent upon elite-defined American culture for its identity—is experiencing a decline as precipitous as that which afflicted Russia during the disastrous years immediately before and after the collapse of the Soviet Union.

... they cannot resist circling back to economic factors as fundamental. Cumulative disadvantage is “triggered by progressively worsening labor market opportunities.” All of this ignores the obvious. Sexual liberation, the denial of any difference between men and women, drug legalization, Hollywood’s glamorous hedonism, easy consumer credit, and free-market ideology—we have been deregulating almost every aspect of life for more than half a century. In a world without guardrails, more and more people crash.

Try to imagine what would have happened had this been a Christian at a Muslim gathering

Viewer Discretion for Obscene Language

S. DAKOTA: A Muslim man entered a Christian conference being held in a hotel. He started cursing and livestreaming video on Facebook. He was wearing a t-shirt that said, “I’m American, I’m a Muslim, I open carry, I conceal carry, and I’m dangerous only if you’re stupid.” A security guard approached him and told him to leave. Once back in his car, he brandished an arsenal of weapons, including two military-style rifles with loaded magazines and three handguns, and made several threats of “Be scared, be F—ing scared. Be terrified.”

After a week of growing controversy and public pressure, authorities in South Dakota on Friday arrested him. It was a complete turn-around from earlier statements by police and prosecutors, who maintained that the Muslim man was just exercising his First and Second Amendment rights and had “broken no laws.” (Try to imagine what would have happened had this been a Christian at a Muslim gathering.)

The original threats by Ehab Jaber were made April 9 during the Worldview Weekend Rally in Sioux Falls, and Jaber followed up with more threatening posts on his Facebook page, including one on April 19 where he challenged his fellow Americans who oppose him to a “shoot out.” Leaders of the Christian Worldview Rally who felt directly targeted by the threatening video are now calling for the resignation of the Sioux Falls police chief and the local prosecutor who sat on the case for nearly two weeks before making an arrest.

The local prosecutor for Lincoln County, Tom Wollman, told WND on April 17 that Jaber had First Amendment rights and Second Amendment rights that had to be considered, and that police on the scene would have made an arrest if they’d thought Jaber had stepped outside the boundaries of those rights.

But that all changed on Friday evening two days after more articles appeared in the U.K.’s Daily Mail and the New York Post, which labeled Jaber an “Angry Muslim.” Police raided Jaber’s house Friday and arrested him on one count of making terroristic threats. While the SWAT team was inside Jaber’s home they also found an undisclosed amount of alleged methamphetamine and Jaber will face separate drug charges related to that discovery.

In the image of God

Created for educational purposes, this was produced to give one a sense of what it was like to witness a Space Shuttle Launch. Watch in 1080p and play loud to get a sense of what it was like to be there (nothing was done to boost the sound).

- - Created through FAIR USE for educational purposes - - STS-121
You need a sound system with a lot of power and a great sub (turned up to house shaking level) to get the right effect of this video. I made this for all the people who dreamed of seeing a launch in person but were never able to make the trip themselves.

Using dozens of different video sources and countless audio versions of Shuttle launches I mixed this little clip together to mimic as close an experience to the real thing as I could. I know that the exact sequence of countdown events is somewhat compressed and not time-accurate but I was going more for the 'feel' of a high energy launch experience rather than a technical documentary. Throttle Up and SRB Separation are sounds as might be heard from onboard acoustic transducers picking up resonant vibration in the vehicle's structure.

This is surely part of what it means to be created in the image of God - that man can do this.

LGBT Militant Teacher Bans Cross Necklaces In Her Public School Classroom

And as he reasoned about righteousness and self-control and the coming judgment, Felix was alarmed and said, “Go away for the present. When I get an opportunity I will summon you.” (Acts 24:25)

There is no end to the outrageous and egregious acts in public education (indoctrination) towards Christian students. In yet another graphic display of why it's time to pull your students out of government education, officials at Hillsborough County Public Schools in Tampa, Florida are being asked to stop the bullying by a math teacher who is an open advocate for the LGBT lifestyle and has, among other things, banned students from wearing cross necklaces in her classroom. The nonprofit legal group Liberty Counsel said it would prefer for the district to rein in the teacher, Lora Jane Riedas, without the necessity of a court case. But Liberty Counsel is ready to take action – through a federal lawsuit – if it is needed “to vindicate the parental and student rights.” Read about it here.

Liberty Counsel said the teacher, known for being an LGBTQ “ally” and a member of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network’s Leadership Institute, has gone overboard in her advocacy for her chosen lifestyle. She features classroom décor that “blatantly promotes a pro-LGBT agenda,” reportedly retweeted during the school day “favorite queer web series for kids” and prohibited “at least three students from wearing Christian cross necklaces because she views them as ‘gang symbols.'”

Further, she put LGBT stickers on the notebooks her class uses. Her lesbian partner, also a teacher, “dressed as a nun for a school spirit week, complete with a ‘cross necklace’ made of skulls,’ and she singled out students for “false ‘misbehavior’ allegations” after they removed the LGBT stickers. Liberty Counsel noted the teacher’s propensity for bringing her outside interests into the public school classroom, such as promoting GLSEN’s “Day of Silence,” a national homosexual advocacy protest in public schools.

“The bullying behavior of Lora Jane Riedas is outrageous and unconstitutional,” said Mat Staver, founder of Liberty Counsel. “A teacher cannot ban students from wearing cross necklaces when other students are permitted to wear secular jewelry. Nor can teachers retaliate against students who refuse to display rainbow stickers on their books to promote an LGBT political agenda. The classroom is for learning, not promoting the LGBT agenda.”

The antipathy of the militant homosexual movement towards any symbol of Christianity is reminiscent of the fear of movie vampires towards a cross. What's really happening is that exposure to any vestige of Christianity shines an unwelcome light into their darkness and brings an uneasy awareness of future judgment. They instinctively know that no matter how vociferous their claims on the supposed moral righteousness of their lifestyle, that something is not right. In Acts 24:25, the Roman governor Felix is afraid when Paul discourses on righteousness/self-control/judgment, and commands him to cease. In evidence that something is indeed amiss with the lifestyle, multiple studies repeatedly reveal that "that gay men, lesbians, and bisexual persons have higher rates of suicidal ideation, suicide attempts, and completed suicides than do heterosexual individuals" - i.e., see here. Depression affects LGBT people at higher rates than the heterosexual population, and LGBT youths are more likely than heterosexual students to report high levels of drug use and feelings of depression. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), suicide is the third leading cause of death among people age 10 to 24 in the United States. Lesbian, gay, and bisexual youths in grades 7-12 are twice as likely to attempt suicide than their heterosexual peers. So much for the "gay" lifestyle (young people might need to research the original meaning of the word).

The darker our culture becomes, the more hostility we will inevitably experience simply by virtue of the light we shine. Just as movie vampires cannot stand sunlight, so too will faithful Christians be increasingly ostracized by a dark culture who cannot abide their presence.

U.S. Muslim Doctor Arrested For Genital Mutilation on Girls As Young As 6

The Department of Justice indicted and arrested Detroit emergency room doctor Jumana Nagarwala on multiple charges Thursday, alleging she performed a number of illegal female genital mutilations (FGM) from 2005 and 2017. Her victims are minor girls, some as young as six years old.

... The FBI classified her as a member of a specific religious community. Girls from neighboring Minnesota, at least one who was seven-years-old, were brought by their parents to Nagarwala for the procedure. They were also interviewed by the FBI and could face charges.

The minors were told they were being taken on a "girls trip." Once they arrived at the hotel, they were told they needed to go the doctor for a "stomach ache" and FGM was performed to "get the germs out."

“Female genital mutilation constitutes a particularly brutal form of violence against women and girls.  It is also a serious federal felony in the United States,” Acting U.S. Attorney Daniel Lemisch said. “The practice has no place in modern society and those who perform FGM on minors will be held accountable under federal law.”

The story is here.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) is widely practiced in the Islamic world. The World Health Organization documents this barbaric practice here. As they say,

FGM is recognized internationally as a violation of the human rights of girls and women. It reflects deep-rooted inequality between the sexes, and constitutes an extreme form of discrimination against women. It is nearly always carried out on minors and is a violation of the rights of children. The practice also violates a person's rights to health, security and physical integrity, the right to be free from torture and cruel, inhuman or degrading treatment, and the right to life when the procedure results in death.

The Middle East Quartely concludes here that FGM is indeed an Islamic problem:

There are indications that FGM might be a phenomenon of epidemic proportions in the Arab Middle East. Hosken, for instance, notes that traditionally all women in the Persian Gulf region were mutilated.[42] Arab governments refuse to address the problem. They prefer to believe that lack of statistics will enable international organizations to conclude that the problem does not exist in their jurisdictions. It is not enough to consult Islamic clerics to learn about the mutilation of girls in Islamic societies—that is like asking the cook if the guests like the meal. U.N. agencies operating in the region ignore FGM statistics saying they have no applicable mandate to gather such data. Hosken describes it as a cartel of silence: men from countries were FGM is practiced "enjoy much influence at the U.N."[43] and show no interest in tackling pressing social problems.

With the huge Islamic migration underway into the west, FGM will become more and more of a problem for western cultures.

Miracles are relatively sparse in the west because of widespread nihilism in the western church

Paul Ciniraj is the director of Bibles for Mideast, which delivers Bibles, preaches the Gospel and plants house churches in the strife-torn region. He says, while Islam remains dominant, “thousands upon thousands of people now secretly believe in Jesus Christ as their Savior.” House churches the group establishes are under the banner of the nondenominational Assembly of Loving God Church. A convert from Islam, pastor Paul founded the work some four decades ago and has survived a battle with leukemia. A nine-member board of directors governs the ministry.

As he reports here,

About three weeks ago, I was changing my wet clothes after an early-morning baptism service for one of our churches. Suddenly, militants began stoning me and our group. My head was severely injured and bloodied, and a number of others sustained injuries as well.

Believers rushed me to the nearest hospital. An examination showed serious damage to my skull, so I was transferred to a specialist hospital for immediate surgery. Authorities there, however, refused to do surgery before receiving payment. My poor believing friends somehow managed to comply.

The Islamic militants who had attacked us discovered I was undergoing treatment in that hospital, and plotted to kill me. So the believers shifted me from the hospital to Pastor Ayyoob’s house in a nearby forested area.

Pastor Ayyoob lives there with his wife, two young children and 80-year-old mother. Two believers joined us to help care for me. So the eight of us stayed there—with no internet,, electricity, pipe water, or even proper bathrooms.  For primary things we used the forest areas and a nearby river.

My colleague Susanna managed the website and prayer requests during this time, and I thank and praise God for her service during this difficult period.

Believers secretly visited me at the forest home, and we would have prayer services together. I stayed there about three weeks.

Last Sunday (April 16, Easter Sunday), we were in the midst of our worship service with Pastor Ayyoob leading. Suddenly, a group of militants reached the house, armed with steel bars and other weapons. We had no idea what to do.

I still hadn’t (and have not) fully recovered from the surgery. Pastor Ayyoob’s mother is an elderly, sick woman. We also had two children below four years old with us, and a woman seven months pregnant who came for the service.

Militants had found the house by noticing the people attempting to visit me secretly and coming for prayers.

Losing all hope, we thought for sure this was our last day. The children with us started crying. We all joined hand in hands and repeatedly praised and thanked our risen Lord Jesus Christ. We also continually claimed the blood of Jesus Christ as our victory.  The pregnant woman suffered pain, but joined in our praises to the Lord.

O Lord Jesus! Praise His Holy Name. Completely unexpectedly, a lion ran from the forest, leapt towards the militants, and seized one by the neck. When other combatants tried to attack the lion, two other lions bounded towards them. The terrified militants fled the site, and the lions left us completely alone. Equally astonishing, records show no lions are supposed to live in that forest.

Due to pressure from officials, we left the forest home yesterday.

Tim Keller has an interesting perspective on miracles. From his book "The Reason For God: Belief In An Age Of Skepticism" ...

“We modern people think of miracles as the suspension of  the natural order, but Jesus meant them to be the restoration of the natural order. The Bible tells us that God did not originally make the world to have disease, hunger and death in it. Jesus has come to redeem where it is wrong and heal the world where it is broken. His miracles are not just proofs that he has power, but also wonderful foretastes of what he is going to do with that power. Jesus' miracles are not just a challenge to our minds, but a promise to our hearts, that the world we all want is coming."

Contrary to what many Christians in the west currently believe, miracles are still a part of God's activity in the world today. But not the manufactured "miracles" often portrayed on popular American televangelism that more often mirrors the attitude of Simon in Acts 8 rather than the disciples in Acts 10; God does not do carnival sideshows just to impress people and raise money. In my experience, God sometimes moves supernaturally to confirm his Word in dark places, to powerfully heal (especially where no medical treatment is available), to sometimes protect believers from attacks of the enemy, and especially in response to earnest prayer from faithful believers. Just as Jesus did few miracles in his hometown because of unbelief, so too are miracles relatively sparse in the west where Christianity is now often stripped of power because of widespread nihilism in the western church that has been largely seduced by naturalism.

L Russ Bush III educates us here on the fatal worldview of Naturalism:

"Naturalism" is the belief that in the final analysis, nature is all that there is, and that "nature" is essentially unmodified by anything other than itself. In other words, nature itself is thought to be the ultimate reality. The acceptance of "theistic evolution" by many in the church was a major catalyst in the shift from the Biblical worldview to a naturalistic one. According to the world view known as "naturalism," there is nothing beyond nature that has any causal influence or effect upon nature. Either there is no God or God has no effect or influence on nature. Some might suggest that nature itself may be thought of as a creative being. Naturalism claims that life on earth arose from natural substances by natural selection for natural ends. There is no reality that can properly be called super-natural. Spiritual realities, according to naturalism, are either illusions or else they are merely complex or unusual natural realities.

Since the eighteenth century, a materialistic philosophy has been steadily gaining influence in the western world to include much of the church. Previously, most people in the West believed that the world was a divine creation, but naturalistic thinking gradually challenged that view and sought to replace it, first with naturalistic methods and then with a more comprehensive naturalistic philosophy.

Prior to the rise of naturalism as a prominent world view (or comprehensive mind-set), most western people believed that God had created the world and was responsible for its form and for its very existence. It was understood that God was upholding all things by the word of His power, for in the beginning God had created all things. Since God was a living being, it was logical to expect life in the world, because life comes from life. Twentieth century naturalism built itself on the idea that the universe (and everything in it, including life itself) came into being because of a natural quantum fluctuation (or by some other strictly natural means) and developed by natural processes from its original natural state to its present natural state. Life arose from non-life.

Naturalism affirms no God except the god of impersonal, non-living, undesigned, physical chemistry. A natural process of change is essentially random and/or undirected, but natural processes actually seem to "select" some processes and activities in the sense that "better" or stronger ones survive while others perish. Naturalists believe that this unconscious, non-directed "selection" process along with random genetic fluctuations (i.e., mutations) are the keys that explain the origin of the world of living things as we know it today. Thus the naturalistic "world view" is the overall belief that nature itself is all that there is. God did not design it. Intelligence was a result not a cause of the developing world. Nature formed itself by strictly natural processes.

As Bush so aptly concludes, in naturalism "... reason is lost. Truth is lost. Knowledge is lost. Meaning is lost."

Pseudo-science widely contributed to the acceptance of naturalism in the western church. In stark contrast to the church that is now exploding in China and is grounded in the spiritual worldview of the Bible, the western church is reaping what was sown with its seduction by naturalism.

And he could do no mighty work there, except that he laid his hands on a few sick people and healed them. And he marveled because of their unbelief. (Mark 6:5-6, ESV)

Sexual License Over Religious Freedom

Jared Dobbs elaborates here on the Christian doctrine of marriage in his essay entitled "Why Christians Object To Participating In A Same-Sex Wedding (It Isn’t Bigotry)".

... But the court misunderstands Barronelle’s religious beliefs. She gladly will use her talents to celebrate any union of one man and one woman. For Barronelle, a wedding joining a man and a woman tells the truth about marriage, regardless of whether Muslims or atheists are getting married. Those events involve what is necessary to make a marriage, so Barronelle has no problem participating in those weddings. But unions of any other combination do not constitute marriages, even if they receive the imprimatur of the state.

The secular establishment remains unmoved. Isn’t her formula of marriage gerrymandered to fit her prejudice? Not at all. Barronelle’s beliefs about marriage, which reflect basic orthodox Christian teaching, are firmly rooted in her understanding of God, man, and human sexuality. Christians have understood these to be essential, profound, and interlocking truths for centuries. It is because of these great truths that many Christians object to participating in a same-sex wedding.

Natural Marriage Is Fundamental to the Faith

So Christians aren’t just coming up with their beliefs about marriage arbitrarily. Marriage, according to Scripture and church tradition, is an earthly picture of the relationship between God and his people.

There is clearly a hidden agenda underlying the movement of militant homosexuality. Wondering why no Muslim has been taken to court for refusing to service a gay wedding? Simple. The militant homosexual movement is licking its chops at the thought of finally vanquishing from the public square its perennial thorn-in-the-side ....... orthodox Christianity.

In 2013, Stephen Beale  wrote,

In 2006, a noted advocate for traditional marriage, Maggie Gallagher, warned that the legalization of same-sex marriage would lead to constraints on religious freedom. Writing in the Weekly Standard, Gallagher saw the end of adoptions services by Boston Catholic Charities as a foreshadowing of things to come. (To retain its license, Gallagher explained, the agency would have to abide by the state’s anti-discrimination law, which had been extended to married same-sex couples.) She couched her warning in the form of a question:

This March, then, unexpectedly, a mere two years after the introduction of gay marriage in America, a number of latent concerns about the impact of this innovation on religious freedom ceased to be theoretical. How could Adam and Steve’s marriage possibly hurt anyone else? When religious-right leaders prophesy negative consequences from gay marriage, they are often seen as overwrought. The First Amendment, we are told, will protect religious groups from persecution for their views about marriage. So who is right? Is the fate of Catholic Charities of Boston an aberration or a sign of things to come?

Seven years later, we have the answer: as of this writing, there have been at least 11 instances of wedding vendors and venues facing some form of recrimination—threats, boycotts, protests, and the intervention of state or judicial authorities—because they denied services for gay nuptials because of their faith.

... These cases represent a new battlefield in the clash between the freedoms of Christians and the “radical homosexual agenda,” said Richard Thompson, President and Chief Counsel of The Thomas Moore Law Center. “Despite their relatively small numbers, radical homosexuals wield enormous power. They dominate our cultural elite, Hollywood, television, the mainstream news media, public schools, academia, and a significant portion of the judiciary,” Thompson said in an e-mail interview. “As a result of their power, homosexual activists are able to intimidate and silence opposition.”

What is transpiring is in fact the triumph of sexual "license" over religious freedom. In 2013, Berkley professor of Sociology Claude Fischer documented here the growing sexual license in his blog entitled "Sexual license, sexual limits". In May 2016, David French noted here the devastatingly high cost of sexual license. As he concludes, "For those who understand biblical truth, the notion of slavery to sin is hardly new — and it turns out that redefining sin as freedom doesn’t make the slavery or sorrow any less real."

The sexual revolution which was birthed in the 60s, has borne mature fruit tragically laying waste countless lives and families.

Further Incentive To Yank Children Out Of Public Education (Indoctrination)

Transgender lifestyles and same-sex relationships should be ‘promoted’ to children as young as two to reduce hate crime, the National Union of Teachers (NUT) has said. Delegates at the union’s national conference in Cardiff on Monday voted for its members to teach about ‘LGBT+’ issues and lifestyles to toddlers starting from nursery school.

Teachers bemoaned a “lack of policies which promote LGBT+ within schools”, which they allege has a “significant negative impact” on the well-being of students and teachers who are homosexual or transgender.

It was revealed last month that primary schools will likely be legally obliged to teach pupils about same-sex couples as part of the mandatory relationships curriculum that is due to begin from 2019.

Story is here.

The Hijrah Invasion of the West

Hijrah, or jihad by emigration, is according to Islamic tradition, the migration or journey of Muhammad and his followers from Mecca to Yathrib, later renamed by him as Medina in the year 622 AD. It was after the hijrah that Muhammad for the first time became not just a teacher of religious ideas, but also a political and military leader. That occasioned his new “revelations” exhorting his followers to commit violence against unbelievers. Significantly, the Islamic calendar counts the hijrah, not Muhammad’s birth or the occasion of his first “revelation” as the beginning of Islam, implying that Islam is not complete without a political and military component.

To emigrate in the cause of Allah – that is, to move to a new land in order to bring Islam there - is considered in Islam a highly meritorious act. “And whoever emigrates for the cause of Allah will find on the earth many locations and abundance,” says the Qur’an. “And whoever leaves his home as an emigrant to Allah and His Messenger and then death overtakes him, his reward has already become incumbent upon Allah. And Allah is ever Forgiving and Merciful.” (4:100).

The Western world is under assault by an Islamic invasion. But the Muslims aren’t coming in uniforms and carrying weapons. They’re arriving en masse with the assistance of naive Western governments. Some call it refugee resettlement. Others simply believe it is just immigration. Few are willing to call it what it is – hijrah - an “act of conquest" according to traditional Islam. One of those few is Paul Nehlen, producer and director of the new documentary “Hijrah: Radical Islam’s Global Invasion.” Nehlen accuses that the mainstream establishment media are complicit in covering up the truth about what Islam truly represents.

“When the media talks about religion, they pick out the pieces they want to talk about, the narrative they want to share or spin,” he says in the film. “But what we’re going to talk about is political Islam. We’re going to talk about how Islam developed over the years, and what basic tenets of Islam have been the same from the time it was created until now. … It’s different from what the mainstream media will tell you. It’s the truth.”

The purpose of the documentary is to introduce Westerners to the double meaning in the term “hijrah.” Nehlen argues the media is eager to project an innocent meaning onto the term, which is often used to refer to the journey of the Islamic prophet Muhammad from Mecca to Medina. It can also be used in a more abstract, spiritual context as a kind of “flight from sin.” But Nehlen says there is a more sinister meaning, as the term can also refer to conquest via immigration.

“Learning the dual meanings of the word ‘hijrah’ is critical to your understanding of the manufactured refugee crisis and the migration in the name of Allah,” Nehlen proclaims in the film.

Muslim leaders with direct connections to the Muslim Brotherhood have covertly that immigration is part of the movement’s strategy to take over the West. Counter-terrorism expert and former Department of Homeland Security Agent Philip Haney also argues immigration is a tool Islamic radicals use to pursue their goal of conquest.

“We always have to come back again to this gravitational force of Shariah,” said Haney. “The power that drives the global Islamic movement isn’t actually jihad. It is the goal to implement global Shariah law. Jihad is the tactic that is employed via various kaleidoscopic forms by the different groups that are all seeking the same thing.”

The end goal of imposing Shariah law is the driving force behind the global Islamic movement. And Nehlen assembles reams of evidence in “Hijrah” to show how mass immigration and “refugee resettlement” are furthering the core objective of the jihadists.

There is no question that the Muslim hijrah underway into the West poses real problems for the stability of western civilization. Some see it as the beginning of an Islamic worldwide quest for power ultimately culminating in the rise of the prophesied antichrist who will be Muslim.

I'm not so sure.

David Reagan makes a strong argument here for the traditional understanding with his most powerful argument being Dan 9:26. He offers the following perspective on Islam at the end of the age ...

Rather than a great Muslim triumph under the leadership of a Muslim Antichrist, I believe the most likely end-time scenario for the Muslim world will be one of overwhelming defeat, first in the regional wars of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38 and then in the world wars of Revelation 6, 8 and 9. Muslim power in the Middle East will be dealt a terrible blow in the wars of Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38, both of which I think will most likely occur before the beginning of the Tribulation.

But the biggest portion of the Muslim world lives outside the Middle East. The largest Muslim nations today are Indonesia, Pakistan, India, and Bangladesh. It is these nations that I believe will offer the strongest resistance to the European Antichrist, and I believe they will be destroyed in the world war the Antichrist will launch, a war that begins as a conventional one in Revelation 6 but which appears to eventually morph into a nuclear one in Revelation 8 and 9, resulting in the destruction of one half’s the earth’s population.

Regardless, it's important to understand that - if left unchecked - the Islamic hijrah underway into the west is a serious threat to our way of life. Ironically the progressive liberals that support it will be among the very first casualties. They are gullibly swallowing a poison pill.

Body of Executed Terrorist Mysteriously Goes Missing

Body of Executed Terrorist Mysteriously Goes Missing
By Joe Jarvis - April 16, 2017

ROME- Inciting riots, making terrorist threats, destruction of property, treason, and impersonating a King are just some of the charges this man faced last week.

When the regional authorities of the Sanhedrin finally had enough of his sedition, agents of Rome moved to arrest the terrorist who has been in the news constantly over the past few years.

Last week the target was located on a tip from follower turned informant Judas Iscariot. Judas became disillusioned with the lies and tricks Jesus pulled and decided to turn Jesus in for the reward for information leading to his arrest.

According to a source within the Roman military ranks, cult members were illegally camped with their leader and became violent as Roman authorities approached. One soldier was attacked by a follower and had his ear severed.

But Jesus of Nazareth was captured, and given a fair trial for his crimes. Prefect Pontius Pilate seemed hesitant to rule Jesus guilty of plotting against the Roman Empire, but acquiesced that he was guilty of other charges brought by regional Jewish leadership.

Jesus was sentenced to death by crucifixion, which was carried out last Friday, along with the executions of two thieves.

“I don’t believe everything Jesus said,” a man who met Jesus but wished to remain anonymous told us, “But he definitely had a unique perspective. I just don’t think he deserved to die though. I mean he may have been a little crazy but that doesn’t mean they should crucify the guy. He seemed pretty peaceful to me.”

Yet Jesus regularly dined with sinners and generally associated with the lowest members of society. Especially concerning was his relationship with a prostitute named Mary Magdalene. The two were often seen together but never married. Jesus even once stopped an adulteress from being stoned to death–the proper punishment according to regional law.

And of course, Jesus incited the now infamous riot at a temple, destroying property and attempting to start an uprising when he toppled the tables and scales of merchants and traders in a violent rage. So it is unclear how the public might still view the clearly unstable man as “peaceful.”

And indeed, the majority of Palestinians feel Jesus was properly punished for breaking the law.

“That wouldn’t have happened to him if he had just followed the law,” one man said, who also wished to remain anonymous, fearing reprisal from Jesus’s cult. “It’s pretty simple, don’t break the law and you won’t be arrested and crucified. I have no sympathy for him. He knew what he was doing was wrong.”

And indeed Jesus not only took himself down this path of dereliction, but influenced his followers to abandon their wives and properties in order to live a nomadic lifestyle of partying. One victim of Jesus’s con was a respectable tax collector who was brainwashed into abandoning his comfortable occupation to camp in the wilderness and travel from town to town.

The world is better to be rid of this con man who managed to convince crowds that he could conjure up fish and bread, and turn water into wine. He preyed on the weak and infirm, tricking the blind and crippled into traveling untold distances to seek cures for their ailments.

Though reports flurry of those whom Jesus healed, we were unable to locate any actual recipients of Jesus’s supposedly miraculous healing.

But it seems that even though the world is rid of this dangerous criminal, his cult seeks to perpetuate the image of Jesus as divine. His body was entombed and sealed with a two ton boulder. But just this morning reports surfaced that Jesus’s body went missing.

What Happened to the Body of Jesus?

Jesus was entombed just miles from where his sentence was carried out.

Some speculate that Jewish authorities stole the body of Jesus who they condemned for claiming to be the King of all Jews. The idea is that they would desecrate his body, refusing to give him a proper burial due to his blasphemy.

But when you think about it, this theory does not hold much water. Jewish leaders would know they would risk turning Jesus into a martyr by stealing his body. They already got what they wanted, punishment for a troublesome terrorist. So why overextend themselves?

A more likely scenario is that close followers of Jesus’s cult stole the body in an attempt to perpetuate the myth that he is the Jewish “messiah”.

Sources close to Jesus’s “disciples” (as cult member call themselves) say that the disciples thought they could bring Jesus back from the dead.

Mary Magdalene followed Roman soldiers as they interred the body, and could have related this location back to his followers.

Still unclear is how they would have removed the enormous rock blocking the entrance to the grave, especially without being detected by Roman soldiers posted nearby.

Authorities are investigating, and will prosecute the perpetrators when found. Robbing graves is illegal, even if the victim is a known con-man and convicted terrorist, and carries hefty punishment.

But the crowds that typically surrounded Jesus have evaporated since his conviction. People seem to realize that a man as supposedly powerful as Jesus would have been able to save himself from death if he really was the magical God he claimed to be.

What is certain is that Jesus is still dangerous after death, through the followers of his cult. Judas Iscariot was found hanged from a tree in what authorities believe may have been a lynching by Jesus’s disciples in retribution for his part in the apprehension.

It is advisable to stay far away from any followers of Jesus, as their violence seems to have only increased since his death. In desperation, they are especially dangerous to come into contact with.

Anyone with information on their whereabouts should contact local Roman authorities. If you have any knowledge of cult members’ involvement in the robbing of Jesus’s grave or the death of Judas Iscariot, please do not hesitate to contact authorities, as disciples pose an imminent danger to the public.

Stardust To Stardust

Matthew Walther recounts here his tragic visit to a liberal Presbyterian church.

There is something unsettling about liberal Christianity, and at moments like this you feel it: the crepuscular gloom, the all-pervading feeling of desperate but resigned optimism, the hope against hope for something ineffable. You find it in Bultmann, in John Robinson’s absurd—and in their way moving—books, on the lips of Iris Murdoch’s faithless priests. It’s not just sadness; it’s also fear. When Tillich says that “Our ultimate concern is that which determines our being or not-being,” he wants us to choose being. The alternative, I guess, is to let yourself be devoured by whatever might be lurking in the gray and black rectangles of half-gloom spreading over the empty pews behind me.

It is to the familiar strains of “Woodstock” that my fellow congregants rise to receive their glitter-plus-ashes, which in this light look silvery purple, like beet purée mixed with lead filings. I remain seated and have to peer over the edge of my pew to hear what Stehlik is saying. To the first man he whispers something very somber and, I think, personal. Then I catch it:

“Remember that you are stardust and to stardust you will return.”

Finally it is time for the “Bless”:

“A stellar pathway to new life.”

“We follow stardust cross.”

“A journey of the end and new hope.”

“We follow stardust cross.”

“Travel through death to resurrection.”

“We follow stardust cross.”

“The life of blessing, the way of truth, in the love that renews, rebirths, recreates.”

“We follow stardust cross.”

This is the closest we come to hearing the name of Christ.

When the church abandons revealed truth, as his experience demonstrates, anything goes. It truly and tragically is the blind leading the blind.

He also told them a parable: “Can a blind man lead a blind man? Will they not both fall into a pit? (Luke 6:39)

Descent Into Metaphysical Madness

Wesley Smith (senior fellow at the Discovery Institute’s Center on Human Exceptionalism and the author of The War on Humans) elaborates here on the latest phase of our descent into metaphysical madness - the granting of personhood with attendant legal rights to two rivers.

We live in truly surreal times. In an age when all human beings still do not have access to human rights—and when some of the world’s foremost bioethicists declare that the unborn and cognitively disabled are not persons—radical environmentalists and others are agitating to grant “rights” to objects in nature.

In the latest phase of this descent into metaphysical madness, two rivers have been declared to be legal “persons” endowed with human-style rights ...

As we are now witnessing, once a culture divorces itself from transcendent truth, madness is inevitable. Barring repentance, this is only the beginning as the culture spirals deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole. The mad people deluded by a fictitious reality will readily accuse of insanity those who stubbornly cling to the anchor of transcendent truth and are firmly embedded in true reality. In Acts 26:24, the Roman governor of Judea accuses Paul of being insane. It's especially noteworthy that Jesus, the One who created and defines all of reality, was Himself accused of insanity several times during His ministry.

Many of them said, “He has a demon, and is insane; why listen to him? (John 10:20)

We can expect no less.

Sweden foreshadows what is ahead for the West after Muslim mass migration

In Feb 2015, the Gatestone Institute reported that forty years after the Swedish parliament unanimously decided to change the formerly homogenous Sweden into a multicultural country, violent crime had increased by 300% and rapes by 1,472%. Sweden was then the number two on the list of rape countries worldwide, surpassed only by Lesotho in Southern Africa.

Dawn Perlmutter penned a politically-incorrect diatribe here lambasting the Swedish authorities for coddling Muslim immigrants who commit rape and sexual assault.

Muslim immigrant rapists believe that all non-Muslim and uncovered women can be lawfully taken for sexual use; hence rape and sexual assaults are justified. Appearance, particularly for women, is an important aspect of Sharia Islamic law. Modesty is how women achieve honor and to appear in anything revealing brings shame not only for her but for the entire family. Almost all Muslim governments encourage and even legally obligate women to dress modestly: at a minimum to wear a headscarf, in some countries a veil and in others a full body covering.

Uncovered women are viewed as prostitutes and adulterers and the prevailing attitude is that if an uncovered woman is raped she asked for it. In September 2006 in a Ramadan sermon on adultery, Australia’s most senior Muslim cleric blamed immodestly dressed women who don't wear hijab for being preyed on by men. Sheik Taj Din al-Hilali alluded to the infamous Sydney gang rapes in 2000, committed by a group of fourteen Lebanese Australian men, and suggested the attackers were not entirely to blame. Sheik Hilali said: "If you take out uncovered meat and place it outside on the street, or in the garden or in the park, or in the backyard without a cover, and the cats come and eat it ... whose fault is it, the cats or the uncovered meat? The uncovered meat is the problem." That is the psychology of Muslim refugees who have been welcomed into Sweden in extraordinary numbers.

Sweden prides itself on its humanitarianism that has accepted more refugees in proportion to size of population than any other nation in the developed world. Unfortunately, this humanitarianism has been at the expense of Swedish women and eventually Swedish culture. This is evident in the increasing mass sexual assaults and rapes committed by migrants at Swedish festivals. In July 2016 at Bravalla, Sweden's largest music festival, there were nearly 40 assaults, including five rapes. A week earlier at Putte i Parken (Party in the Park), a free festival in Karlstad, there were 32 similar sexual attacks where the youngest victim was just twelve years old. The number of attacks is much higher as many women do not report them and there were multiple victims in most reports.

Gang rapes of individual Swedish women have been particularly brutal. Infidel uncovered women are viewed as acceptable targets without exception, regardless of age or disability. On October 2, 2016 in the town of Visby on Sweden's Gotland island a wheelchair-bound woman was gang-raped by up to six men at a Swedish migrant center. The woman who was in her 30’s was sharing a taxi home when she asked to use the toilet. Her fellow passenger invited her inside and with five of his buddies viciously raped her in the bathroom for several hours. The six men who were all asylum seekers in their 20s were arrested but released a few days later. The victims’ attorney said, “She got paralyzed in this situation and was not able to bring herself to resist physically, other than saying no.” He added: “She is completely broken down.” From a Western perspective, this seems inexplicable, however from the world view that embraces Sharia law this is perfectly acceptable punishment for an infidel woman. The fact that she was disabled just made her an easier target.

In March 2016, a 23-year-old woman was kidnapped at gunpoint by four men in Malmö, Sweden and driven to a hookah bar in Helsingborg where three more men were waiting to rape her. She was pulled by the hair to the basement, her arms and legs were held down, her clothes were ripped off and the men took turns raping her orally, vaginally and anally either singly or in pairs. Only two of the seven suspects were convicted, the others who were charged with aggravated rape and abetting rape were released for lack of evidence. The two men who were convicted were from Kuwait and Syria and arrived in Sweden without identification papers; hence they could not be deported.

On January 21, 2017 in Uppsala, Sweden three men broke into a woman’s home armed with guns, tore off her clothes and gang raped her for three hours while livestreaming the whole attack on Facebook. Similar to other horrific rapes, the liberal mainstream media refused to unequivocally identify the offenders as Muslim immigrants. Jihad Watch reported that “The Swedish publication NyheterIdag says that the attackers were “nysvenskar,” that is, “new Swedes,” which is the establishment media euphemism for Muslim migrants.” A 21 year old woman came forward after she saw the Facebook broadcast and stated that she recognized one of the perpetrators who raped her 15 months earlier.

In 2016 a Swedish mother of two was gang raped by at least nine Afghan refugees at a refugee camp in Småland Mariannelund, Sweden. She was raped to the sound of laughter and joyful shouts. Forensic scientists found 48 semen stains in the apartment where the rape took place. Sperm from at least four people was recovered from the victim’s rectum and digestive system. According to the courtroom clerk in addition to the sadistic gang rape, the mother of two was close to death because her airways were clogged during the rape. During the trial, the victim repeatedly had to leave the courtroom several times to vomit.

The willful ignorance of Western governments about the true nature of Islam is now bearing its deadly fruit.

Total Solar Eclipse in the U.S. on Aug 21, 2017 - A Sign?

On Aug 21, 2017 the first total solar eclipse in 99 years will cross the entirety of the United States. While science of course can explain the physics of what produces a solar eclipse and precisely predict the event, it cannot glean any meaning from it. Both lunar and solar eclipses often are divine signs in the Bible.

On Aug. 21, everyone will experience at least 60 percent of the sun being covered, and the resulting semi-darkness. Those within about a 60-mile wide diagonal line from the Pacific Northwest through South Carolina will see the sky go dark and the accompanying temperature drop. In some areas of the country, the darkness will last more than two minutes and 30 seconds.

In contrast to the "enlightened" people in our culture who regard such events as purely natural with no meaning whatsoever, some are urging careful attention to this heavenly sign, suggesting it may be something that needs more attention. Such as a direct warning to the United States.

In 765 B.C., a plague broke out in Nineveh where even the king was not able to go out to war, as was custom. This was followed by a civil war and then another plague. An archaeological find of cuneiform tablets was found in the 19th century describing events in Nineveh. A famous eclipse mentioned in the tablets was known as the Bur-Sagale eclipse, which is verified by NASA as occurring on June 15, 763 BC. The path of totality was right over Nineveh. God had declared the sun and the moon were for signs in Scripture, and now the Ninevites saw the wrath of God coming even before Jonah arrived a couple months later. When Jonah arrived, they were ripe for repentance.

Just before the eclipse of June 28th, 1914, through the month of August, the events of World War 1 began, The path of totality of the eclipse was over Eastern Europe and the Ottoman Empire or Middle East, including Nineveh again. This event foretold the destruction of the Ottoman Empire in World War I. Aug 21, 2017 is at the beginning the month of repentance on the Jewish calendar (first of Elul). Some wonder is God is giving us a warning that we need to repent or judgment will be coming to the United States.

Interestingly, there will be another total solar eclipse seven years later running from south to the northeast across the United States on April 8, 2024, with St. Louis near the crosshairs between the two eclipses, close to the geographical center of the country. It's as though the 2 eclipses that are 7 years apart are painting a bullseye on the country.

The sun will be turned into darkness And the moon into blood Before the great and awesome day of the LORD comes (Joel 2:31)

the sun shall be turned to darkness and the moon to blood, before the day of the Lord comes, the great and magnificent day (Acts 2:20)

How 3 Recent Animated Movies Subtly Destroy Kids’ Understanding Of Family And Reality

Eric Van Gorden has written a power essay here entitled "How 3 Recent Animated Movies Subtly Destroy Kids’ Understanding Of Family And Reality".

... Zootopia is extremely well-written and quite entertaining. The outward message is often good and has several positive aspects. However, it wraps certain lies around varied truths so they become almost indistinguishable. The underlying theme of the film is that being who you were created to be is either insufficient or just plain wrong.

As I watched, read about, and discussed “Zootopia” with my children, several things struck me. At the very beginning, in a conversation between the main character, Judy, and her parents, the father says, “Judy, you ever wonder how your mom and me got to be so darn happy? … Well, we gave up on our dreams, and we settled.” The whole dialog in this second scene sets up the idea that, if you plan to stay as you were made, then you can have no dreams.

This immediately informs the children watching that not only do their parents not know what is good for them but neither does their creator ...

... As the movie progresses, it is not insignificant that the predators in the movie can no longer be predators. There are several implications here as well, not the least of which is the inference to Isaiah 11:6: “The wolf shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the lion and the fattened calf together; and a little child shall lead them.” The film is suggesting that we can create a heavenly experience here on earth without needing or following God (or his created order), but instead the “heavenly reality” will come through political and social justice.

At the end of the movie, I also found it interesting that the villain is revealed to be a “lamb” whose primary evil deed is proclaiming that predators are predators by forcing them to be predators. The inference could easily suggest that Christ (the Lamb of God) has an absolute truth which the world views as completely foolish and ultimately evil. This is all done in a masterful way to encourage children to reject the created order and instead create an order for themselves–without ever stating it explicitly.

... Finally, the new live-action “Beauty and the Beast” shows how the entertainment industry intentionally wants to promote these subtle changes into the norm. A well-balanced review from Ted Baehr says, “This BEAUTY AND THE BEAST has most of the charms and positive messages of the 1991 movie, but they are marred by some annoying, gratuitous politically correct homosexual references that are on the nose, out of place and in your face.”

... The magazine’s editor-in-chief, Matt Cain, commented, “It may have been a long time coming, but this is a watershed moment for Disney.” He continued, “By representing same-sex attraction in this short but explicitly gay scene, the studio is sending out a message that this is normal and natural – and this is a message that will be heard in every country of the world, even countries where it’s still socially unacceptable or even illegal to be gay.”

He added, “It’s only a first step towards creating a cinematic world that reflects the one in which many of us are now proud to live. But it’s a step in the right direction, and I applaud Disney for being brave enough to make it – and in doing so hopefully helping to change attitudes and bring about real social progress.”

While I have not seen the last movie, I have seen the first two (Zootopia and Happy Feet). I too was disturbed by the implicit messages of both. Modern Disney animations are carefully crafted propaganda venues for whatever "reality" the culture happens to be blindly espousing at the time. The astonishing sophistication with which the culture changes truth and targets the innocent is reminiscent of what transpired in Eden; it also clearly reveals who ultimately is pulling the puppet strings behind the scene.

The "Super Spirituality" of Modern Evangelicalism

“How radical a separating wall stands between modern Protestants (in particular) and our common heritage in the incarnational faith of the Middle Ages? I’ve suggested one quite formidable aspect of that wall for evangelicals—our immediatism. But the barrier stretches back much farther in history. In a crucial (quite literally) sixteenth-century moment, a central symbol of the incarnation was removed forcibly from the church. This was the point at which some zealous Reformers went beyond tearing down paintings and smashing statues to take the very body of Christ off of the crucifix—thus (they thought) defending the church against idolatrous images and defending the resurrection. Left behind was (arguably) only an abstract symbol of a judicial transaction.”

This passage was not penned by a Roman Catholic, but by evangelical Protestant Chris Armstrong in his recent book “Medieval Wisdom for Modern Christians.”  He effectively argues the incarnation is diminished in much of modern evangelicalism, leading to a serious problem of gnostic super-spirituality. He makes a strong argument. Indeed, it would help explain the mystifying support for abortion among many Protestants, including the astonishing early support from many conservative denominations (i.e., the Southern Baptists - see here.)

His theme is the incarnation was the central point for medieval theology and offers a solution to one of the biggest problems for contemporary Christians: an anemic view of what it means to be human. He summarizes in the final chapter after examining medieval theology in some detail throughout the book,

“Yes, the incarnation of Christ launches the redemptive plan that leads to the cross, the tomb, the resurrection, and the ascension. But it is more. It is the Creator God entering his creation. And not only entering creation but entering the part of creation that is us. In the incarnation, God experiences us from the inside.

This stunning event exalts two things: first, the humanity of Christ and second, the humanity of humanity, of ourselves. When we really “get” the incarnation, it releases us to live all of life in light of Jesus Christ and to affirm our own humanness—our own materiality, our own affectivity, our own rationality, our own cultural creativity. The incarnation wipes away the gnostic super-spirituality that is a serious problem of modern evangelicalism”

For Armstrong, the incarnation is the linchpin of medieval theology and spirituality, representing the two-thousand-year worshipful, moral tradition of Scriptural exegesis.

I agree the incarnation is unfortunately diminished in much of modern evangelicalism (except perhaps once-a-year at Christmas) leading to a weakened view of humanity. Thus,
  • the longing among many Protestants for spiritual disembodiment at death - i.e., to be "released" from the body. (which ironically is not a normal state of existence for us and only temporary; our eternal destiny is physical resurrection)
  • the de-emphasis on reclamation of the material world leading to its abrogation to the enemy (unlike the medieval Christians who powerfully brought the gospel into the arts, science, music, architecture, etc.)
  • the reluctance by many Protestants to publicly address sexuality (certainly, the apostle Paul was not hesitant)
  • the support for abortion in much of Protestantism
  • the false demarcation between "science" and faith (one serious consequence of course is the now-widespread acceptance of the theory of evolution, leading to questionable "science" and a corresponding loss of faith)
  • the widespread obesity in the church
  • etc.
The semi-gnosticism of modern evangelicalism ironically leads many into the bondage they so desperately seek release from through "super spirituality". Despite this gnostic "super spirituality" on the part of many evangelicals, everyone struggles with at least one besetting sin (usually several), from some aspect of the material creation that is intended as a blessing. A faulty view of the incarnation and its attendant glorious implications leads us into bondage instead of the grand freedom available because of the incarnation. In contrast, the Biblical perspective of the incarnation has astounding consequences.

In Christ we encounter One who is perfectly and fully human, as well as simultaneously perfectly and fully divine. We must maintain the tension between His two natures; the failure to do so can be devastating. Within much of modern evangelicalism, I strongly suspect there is a tendency (because of a diminished grasp of the incarnation) to downplay Christ's humanity in favor of His divinity.

Key to the incarnation is the theological concept of "divinization". In Christian theology, divinization (deification, making divine, or theosis) is the transforming effect of divine grace, the spirit of God, or the atonement of Christ. It literally means to become more divine, or to become god in some sense. (It does NOT mean to become god as articulated by some modern word-faith adherents such as Kenneth Copeland; Kenneth Hagin, etc.) This doctrine was articulated by several early theologians - i.e., Irenaeus, Theophilus of Antioch, Hippolytus of Rome, Clement of Alexandria, Justin Martyr; Athanasius, Gregory of Nyssa, Augustine, Maximus the Confessor, Cyril of Alexandria, etc.

Athanasius said that Christ became man so that man might become God, or gods, or divine, or exalted. What did he mean? At least once he felt ``the boldness of the formula'' and clarified in his third treatise against the Arians: ``To become as the Father is impossible for us creatures.'' ``There be one Son by nature...we too become sons, not as He in nature and truth, but according to the grace of Him that calleth, and though we are men from the earth, and yet called gods, not as the True God or His Word.... We are sons, not as the Son, as gods, not as He Himself. '' (Orat 3.19-20; Robertson 404-405). Similarly, in Orat 1.37 he briefly noted that we are children by grace, not by nature. We are like the Son ``not in essence but in sonship, which we shall partake from Him'' (De Syn 53; Robertson 479).

If we cannot be gods by nature or essence, in what way are we to be like God? ``We are as God by imitation, not by nature'' (Orat 3.20; Robertson 405). Jesus did not mean ``that we might be as God,'' but that we should imitate him (Orat 3.19; Robertson 404). ``Albeit we cannot become like God in essence, yet by progress in virtue imitate God'' (Ad Afros 7; Robertson 492). But imitation or moral virtue is only a minor aspect of theopoisis. More frequently Athanasius connects the concept with immortality and, in keeping with 2 Peter 1:4, incorruptibility and impassibility.

In my personal life, my wife and I are competitive ballroom dancers, both nationally and internationally. While Scripture is explicit that dance can be edifying and even a form of worship (Ex 15:20-21; 2 Sam 6:14; Ps 30:11; Ps 149:3; Ps 150:4; Ecc 3:4; Jer 31:4; Jer 31:13; Luke 15:25; etc.), many conservative Christians condemn it as a "worldly" unspiritual and even evil activity. In fact, ballroom amazingly mirrors the Biblical relationship between husband and wife, i.e.,
  • the man always leads and the woman always follows
  • the dance is never about the man; it's all about the woman
  • the man's focus is on her throughout the dance; he is "serving" her
  • the man is the frame for woman's beautiful picture
  • the woman often has the more technically challenging part but she cannot execute it without the man's foundation and strength
  • "leading" is not pushing and pulling the woman around the floor against her will; it's leading by gentle and precise example with the woman following of her own free will
  • the man and woman have very different parts in the dance, but they compliment each other and move as one
  • because of synergy, the couple produces more powerful and beautiful movement that would be possible by either one of them individually
The more I understand the wonder of the incarnation, the more awestruck I am by the material world that God richly blessed us with and astonishingly chose to enter on our behalf. And incredibly, the only part of creation that God chose to create in His image ... is material. If we lose sight of that, we fail to fully understand what it means to be human, and the astonishing fact that the eternal, omnipotent, omnipresent God freely chose to incorporate humanity into the Godhead forever. Because of the incarnation, Jesus Christ is remarkably now forever fully God ... and fully human.
