Why Akathleptos?

Why Akathleptos? Because it means Uncontainable. God is infinite. Hence, the whole universe cannot contain Him. The term also refers to the incomprehensibility of God. No man can know everything about God. We can know Him personally but not exhaustively, not even in Heaven.

Why Patmos? Because the church is increasingly marginalized and exiled from the culture.

Why Pen-Names? So the focus is on the words and not who wrote them. We prefer to let what we say stand on its own merit. There is precedent in church history for this - i.e., the elusive identity of Ambrosiaster who wrote in the 4th century A.D.

“Truth is so obscured nowadays, and lies so well established, that unless we love the truth we shall never recognize it." Blaise Pascal

False ideas about truth lead to false ideas about life

The National Association of Scholars released the study here, reporting how students in American colleges are being systematically indoctrinated into the "new civics" of social justice activism. The report’s findings suggest that the suppression of free speech on college campuses is only the tip of a very large iceberg. What lies beneath the surface is a massive, publicly funded program of indoctrination through a remaking of the curriculum as a vehicle for advancing the political agenda of progressivism. While the overwhelming vast majority of college faculty in the liberal arts and humanities are liberal and progressive and classroom propaganda is a growing problem, the “New Civics” seeks the transformation of the entire institution and all academic disciplines into “change agents.”

This should not be a surprise to any Christian. The world always seeks to impress false worldviews on us. We are incessantly bombarded with the world's version of false "truth" via public education, movies, TV, radio, music, music videos, newspapers, magazines, art, video games, Madison Avenue advertising, peer pressure, the workplace, civil government, the military, the medical system, etc, etc. The world is on a never-ending quest to divorce us from Truth.

This is why Scripture warns that if we are comfortable with the world which in full-scale rebellion against the Creator, we are in enmity with God (James 4:4). Constant vigilance is required. Anchoring our worldview in Scripture is the strongest possible bulwark. Otherwise, we are ships without a rudder subject to ever-changing cultural tides and trends.

False ideas about truth lead to false ideas about life.
