A journalist who infiltrated a cell of ISIS supporters as they planned a terror attack in France said he found “lost, frustrated, suicidal, easily manipulated youths”.
"My goal was to understand what was going on inside their heads,” Mr Ramzi told the AFP news agency. "One of the main lessons was that I never saw any Islam in this affair."
Embedded with the extremists for six months between summer 2015 and January, he filmed their meetings with a hidden camera as they plotted an attack on a nightclub.
The leader urges the undercover journalist to join him on the “path to paradise” in a suicide attack, adding: “Our women are waiting for us there, with angels as servants. You will have a palace, a winged horse of gold and rubies.”
