Why Akathleptos?

Why Akathleptos? Because it means Uncontainable. God is infinite. Hence, the whole universe cannot contain Him. The term also refers to the incomprehensibility of God. No man can know everything about God. We can know Him personally but not exhaustively, not even in Heaven.

Why Patmos? Because the church is increasingly marginalized and exiled from the culture.

Why Pen-Names? So the focus is on the words and not who wrote them. We prefer to let what we say stand on its own merit. There is precedent in church history for this - i.e., the elusive identity of Ambrosiaster who wrote in the 4th century A.D.

“Truth is so obscured nowadays, and lies so well established, that unless we love the truth we shall never recognize it." Blaise Pascal

It's much easier "manufacturing fake hate crime and hate speech outrage than they are with dealing with the real deal"

A stark example of the liberal, looney worldview of many collegiate educators is on display at prestigious Oberlin College in Ohio. Professor Joy Karega posted that the Islamic State is not Islamic, but rather “a CIA and Mossad operation,” writing "there’s too much information out here for the general public not to know this.” She also once claimed that “Israeli and Zionist Jews” orchestrated the 9-11 terrorist attacks on the Pentagon and World Trade Center.

To date, the school has taken no disciplinary action - something the board of trustees is rightly upset about. Story is here.

Ironically, Prof Korega (as an educator at a liberal, secular college) would be one of the first victims of the imposition of Sharia law.

Example after example could easily be cited of the cartoonish worldview that many colleges now apparently espouse. i.e., Bowdoin College, a private liberal arts college in Maine, has offered counseling to students who felt “injured and affected” by a group of classmates who attended a Tequila-themed birthday party on campus wearing miniature sombreros. (see here.)

Read here about the rising liberal intolerance on college campuses, as admitted in the liberal Washington Post. Even the liberal New York Post editorializes here that "‘Sensitivity’ fascists are turning colleges into day-care centers".

... Oh, that more colleges had presidents like Oklahoma Wesleyan’s Everett Piper, who in December told his students to “grow up” and “get a backbone.”

“The creation of a safe space so that a countering idea cannot enter your world,” he said, “is not education — that is nothing but ideological fascism.”

At least his graduates won’t melt into puddles in the real world, because they’ll have attended a college — not a day-care center.

David Kupelian asserts here that college is driving your kids insane, with recent research finding that college "inculcates anger, anxiety, degradation, depression, suicide."

... "many of our colleges are not only ripping off young Americans’ morality and virtue, not just intimidating and confusing them with crackpot gender-identity social-justice theories, not content merely to continue cranking out thousands of leftist radical clones – young adults indoctrinated in the angry, self-righteous but deluded worldview of the far left. No, they are now programming these young Americans to take offense at the slightest wrong – or even at no wrong at all ...... In other words, many students are literally being taught to hate, to blame, “to think pathologically,” to see themselves as victims and to demonize and silence those who hold contrary views. In this way, they become essentially incapable of functioning competently and responsibly in the real world.

... Historian Willian Lind has described American colleges as “small, ivy-covered North Koreas,” miniature reflections of one of the most terrifying utopian societies on earth. But understand, what we’re seeing unfold on our nation’s college campuses is not some bizarre affliction that has mysteriously and randomly been visited upon the American academy. Rather, we are witnessing, in a more pure and concentrated form, the totalitarian future the far left is steadily imposing on America as a whole, especially in her vast urban areas."
